Learning disability disco to continue after opening success

A NEW disco for adults  with learning disabilities is set to continue in Frome after a successful opening night last month.

Loops Disco, a fun new social and dancing opportunity for the learning disabled community, will take place again on Tuesday 12th July at the Wheatsheaves from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Organiser Ben Waller, of Loops Music Project, is a DJ and musician, who has worked for many years with people with learning disabilities.

Ben said, “The last Loops Disco was a complete success. People kept coming up to me all night long asking when the next one will be. I’m pleased to say that Loops Disco will be returning in July and every month after that!”

There will also be events on 2nd August, 6th September, 4th October and 8th November at the same venue at the same time.

Loops Disco, for learning disabled people aged 16 and over, is held in a real music and club venue with high quality sound system and lighting. Entry  costs £3 per person, with no charge for carers.

Ben said, “It’s great if people are able to come unsupported as there will be a team of experienced volunteers who love to dance and will be on hand to assist anyone who needs support to use the bar, dance or anything else they might need.

“However, if people require a support worker, carer or family member to support them, they will be absolutely welcome at no extra charge.”
