WESTBURY Lions Club is revved up for its first fundraising event since 2019 – the popular White Horse Classic Vehicle and Vintage show is back on the road this Sunday, 5th September.
In conjunction with the Trowbridge Lions the local group has worked hard to get ready for the event which runs from 11.30am to 5pm at the White Horse Country Park.
Westbury Lions president, Tracy Sheppard said, “It has been a very long time coming and a lot of hard work to be finally ready [for the show]. The last event we were able to do was the Santa Float in 2019.
“We have still been serving the community over the last 18 months, but with not being able to fundraise, it has been very hard.
“This show is going to be very big this year. With over 500 vehicles pre-registered and more expected to turn up on the day, it is already looking bigger than the 2019 show.
“We have a lot of entertainment for children, including Clare’s Circus, who is also face-painting.
“We have a Grand Prize Draw with a 3D printer as top prize and a lot of other great prizes too.”
A full day of live music will take place on the Big Rig Stage, including international star Rodney Branigan, and more fabulous local artists.
There will be a food court with a huge array of different choices for everybody’s taste, and a great selection of stalls to browse and shop at, including local charity stalls. There are also fair rides and games.
Tracy said, “We are really looking forward to seeing everybody at the show. It will be fabulous to get back to some kind of normality.”
This will be the third year for the event, with the first one seeing 300 exhibition vehicles and the second seeing over 450 vehicles.
Attendees from across the south west bring their classic cars and motorcycles, vintage tractors and classic commercial vehicles too.
