A local accountancy firm is celebrating national recognition after receiving the Bronze Award for Employer of the Year at the 2025 Accounting Excellence Awards.
Gooding Accounts followed up their shortlisting for Employer of the Year in 2024 to go one better in 2025, receiving the Bronze Award.
“The Accounting Excellence Awards are the most prestigious awards in the UK accountancy sector, recognising outstanding achievements across a wide range of categories,” said Emma Phillips from Gooding Accounts. “The awards celebrate exceptional accounting firms, individuals, teams and projects. Each category is highly competitive, with entries assessed by a panel of senior professionals and experts from across the accounting industry and beyond.
“In a fiercely contested category, we were praised not only for having clear values in place but for embedding them into the heart of the workplace culture.
“The firm’s values – Be Present, Challenge Yourself, Be Thoughtful, and Be a Team – are credited with fostering strong internal relationships and creating a safe, supportive environment where successes can be celebrated and improvements openly discussed.
“Our focus on ongoing training and professional development was also highlighted. With a structured training programme and mentoring scheme in place, associate accountants have achieved both exam excellence and industry recognition, including Lara’s TBE Rising Star Award in 2024 and overall exam results exceeding 88% (to September 2024).
“The introduction of 1-2-1 business coaching for senior staff has further enhanced collaboration and confidence across teams. Following a recent full-team coaching session, the collective headline was: “Gooding Accounts is an outstanding team” – a reflection of the firm’s positive culture.
“Our commitment to fundraising for the local community was also commended, with charity donations totalling £62,500 in 2024 noted as being exceptional for a firm of our size.
“Local charities Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, Wiltshire and Air Ambulance, Dorothy House, Wiltshire Mind, We Hear You and Wessex MS Therapy Centre in Warminster all benefitted from our support.
“The move of our HQ from Westbury to Holloway House in July 2025 was viewed positively, demonstrating the firm’s drive to provide a high-quality workspace for the team, further supporting future growth and success.”
