Local accountancy firm Gooding Accounts has raised £62,500 for local charities through a series of fundraising events, which saw the team tackle challenges including ultra marathons, a night-time Snowdon ascent and skydives.
The firm, based on Warminster Road, initially set itself a target of raising £50,000 as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, but it far exceeded this goal with a series of fundraising events and personal challenges over the past year.
The fundraising challenge was a team effort involving everyone from the partners and senior management to the youngest accountancy apprentices, all of whom worked towards the target, which also included half marathons and a six-month sober challenge.
Gooding Accounts founder and partner Sam Gooding said, “It’s been a fantastic year of fundraising, and I’m incredibly proud of the entire team. When we set ourselves the challenge to raise £50,000, we knew it would take a huge amount of effort, but I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve managed to go so far beyond the target and donate such a huge amount to many charities that support our community.
“Everyone at Gooding Accounts would like to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to every single person who attended one of their events or made a donation to the team’s challenges.
“A special ‘thank you’ goes out to corporate sponsors Lawes Steel, JJ Bricklaying and BB Fixings for their donations. Their generosity helped the firm make every single event throughout the year a great success.”
In addition to personal challenges, the firm organised a series of events, including two quiz nights, a summer party, a bingo evening, a golf day and a sportsman’s dinner, all of which contributed to the overall fundraising goal.
