Local modern pentathlete Kate French, who is competing at this year’s Paris Olympics, has had a fantastic start, sitting in third position with 240 points after yesterday’s fencing round.
Kate, who lives just outside of Westbury, won gold in Tokyo in 2020 and is working on defending her reigning title.
She competes in the modern pentathlon which consists of riding, fencing, swimming, running and shooting. Her next round is on Saturday in the semi-final, at 8.30am.
