Four local boys are taking part in a 10-mile tag charity run to raise money for Macmillan Cancer and Race for Life after a schoolfriend’s mum died of cancer.
Joe and Gil Stockley (9 and 7 years) and James and Lewis Higginson (9 and 6 years), who all attend Dilton Marsh Primary School, will be running 22 laps around Leighton sports field, Westbury. This relay-style run will take place on Sunday 6th July from 9.30am.
Joe and Gil’s mother, Zoe Stockley said, “They are unable to run the Race for Life as we’re away, so instead decided to organise an event themselves.
“Unfortunately one of their friends lost his mum to cancer, which is why they didn’t want to miss doing something.”
The boys said, “We’re looking forward to the event and hopefully raising some money in the process. Training has already started, but wish us luck!”
