Westbury Choral will be performing a special Christmas concert at a Westbury church.
The performance will take place on Saturday 20th December at 3pm at Westbury Methodist Church.
The choir will sing traditional Christmas carols and songs, woven together with readings from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
“We will be conducted by our musical director, Matthew Bale, and accompanied by Gavin Phelps, an organ scholar from Wells Cathedral School who went down a storm at our recent Come and Sing event,” said committee member Jane Lever.
“We will also be including a prize-winning version of In the Bleak Midwinter penned by a young chorister, Harry Hampson-Gilbert. Harry is a member of the National Youth Choir and was a soloist at the Come and Sing. His version of this famous carol has been arranged for choir by the world-renowned Sir John Rutter.
“It promises to be a lovely festive afternoon, including audience participation and a raffle too. Please do come along and support us if you can.”
Tickets cost £10, with accompanied children attending for free. Each ticket includes a hot drink and a mince pie. Tickets can be bought from choir members or from South West Hearing Care on the High Street.
