A LOCAL lad hopes to try again next year after narrowly missing out on a place in the British Talent Cup at Silverstone.
12-year old Jay Able competed in the trials of the British Talent Cup last week, hoping to be selected to move forward to the main event next year. “He did amazingly well,” said proud father Mark Able.
“He made it through the first three rounds of the selection process, but unfortunately didn’t make it to the final cut.
“He was in the last eight of the 12-year olds, with only three going through.
“It was an amazing experience, and an incredibly tense day. He rode fantastically on a bike he’d never ridden before, and on a track he’d never raced on before.
“His progress through each round had us on tenterhooks. He’ll learn from this experience, and hopefully be having another go next year.”
