A local Rock Choir leader is to lead a national rehearsal on Sunday (April 26) for the choir’s campaign to Keep Britain Singing during the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis.

The choir recently launched its Keep Britain Singing campaign with free daily singing sessions live via its Facebook page.

Each day at 3pm a different Choir Leader will broadcast on Facebook to deliver a free, live interactive rehearsal session for its 32,000 members and anyone else who would like to take part in the mass sing-a-long.

Emma Webb, who looks after the Rock Choirs in Frome, Westbury, Warminster, Trowbridge, Chippenham, and Devizes, will lead the rehearsal on Sunday (April 26) at 3pm.

Rock Choir, the UK’s most popular contemporary choir with over 32,000 Members recently launched their ‘Keep Britain Singing’ campaign offering the public free DAILY singing sessions live via their Facebook page. In the last 28 days they have achieved a collective reach of ONE MILLION households with their daily dose of uplifting singing sessions and they are committed to providing this essential daily routine for the entire Covid-19 lockdown.

Rock Choir creates its own unique versions of feel-good and popular contemporary songs offering its members the chance to learn, enjoy and perform these songs with no prior musical or singing experience. With rehearsals taking place in over 400 towns across the UK, each choir enjoys a fulfilling social life following the choir’s ethos of support and nurturing and using music as a platform for health and well-being.

The lockdown has not deterred the Rock Choir Team or its Rockies as they move to a ‘Virtual Rock Choir World’ allowing the important friendships, connections and support of its members to continue when they are needed the most whilst the learning of new songs and harmonies takes place during live sessions led by their choir leader. With plans ahead this year to celebrate 15 years of Rock Choir at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, everyone is wanting to continue learning the new material so that when the choir comes together under one roof, everyone will be pitch perfect!

As well as a vast selection of other feel-good and well-known Rock Choir songs being taught, the official 5 brand new songs for the Rock Choir Summer term are: The Beatles’ A Hard Day’s Night, Queen’s We are the Champions, John Farnham’s You’re the Voice,  Steve Winwood’s Higher Love and Paul Simon’s Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Anyone wishing to take part in the new Rock Choir summer term should go to rockchoir.com

For those who aren’t able to commit to the Rock Choir summer term, the Rock Choir Team is offering a free daily singing session featuring tips and fun singing activities along with a sing-a-long of the favourite Rock Choir songs from their repertoire. Simply go to facebook.com/therockchoir each day at 3pm to be led and entertained by a different Rock Choir Leader each day. The sessions are suitable for all the family and any level.
