A local vicar is preparing to bid farewell to the Westbury area to embark on a new ministry in Cornwall.
Reverend Caroline Husband will be leaving Holy Trinity Church in Dilton Marsh next month after over six years of service in the Westbury area.
Reflecting on her time, she recalled her warm welcome into the community. “In March 2018, I was licensed by Bishop Ed at All Saints’ Church in Westbury,” she said. “I was joined by members of the community who welcomed me with open arms, and that welcome has continued throughout my ministry here.”
She explained that while she feels her time in Westbury has come to a natural end, it is part of a greater plan. “I truly believe that it was God who led me to this area, and now it is God drawing me into my next ministry. Someone recently asked, ‘Why doesn’t God want you to be our vicar anymore?’ and I can only say that perhaps I have done all that God hoped for me to do here. I believe someone else, with different skills and passions, will be able to continue the journey with you.”
Revd Caroline will be moving to Cornwall to join the Probus Mission Area in the Diocese of Truro, a newly formed group of churches dedicated to sharing God’s love with their local communities.
A special service will be held on Sunday 29th September at 6pm at Holy Trinity Church to mark her time in the Westbury area, with refreshments served after.
The White Horse Team’s administrator said, “It will be a light, informal service, featuring our favourite hymns and songs, and a chance for us to show our appreciation for Caroline’s ministry over the last six and a half years.”
Revd Caroline’s final Sunday at Holy Trinity will be 6th October, as she begins preparing for her new adventure in Cornwall.
