Matravers School held its first ‘Big Picnic’ event at the school on Friday 18th July.
This was a reward event for an exceptional year in which standards and expectations have been significantly raised across the school and students have shone,
The day was based around a mini-Glastonbury festival on the school field, complete with huge inflatables; a jungle run and a bouncy castle; along with the sumo wrestling suits. A face painter set up a stall and was inundated with requests for butterflies, flowers and unicorns
The music was live and exceptional. From the school’s home grown talents of student and staff musicians to up and coming local bands. The final band of the day was ‘Ever Young’; a London-based band who release their own single later this year.
There was a barbecue provided by the school’s own catering staff along with interestingly shaped candy floss and lots of ice cream.
Matravers School wanted to thank the entire school community for an amazing year in which the school has gone from strength-to-strength.
