YEAR 9, 10, 11 and Year 12 students at Matravers School were privileged to be visited by Rudi Oppenheimer and hear his living history testimony as a Holocaust survivor on Friday 28th February.
His deeply moving account was harrowing but also showed the power and resilience of the human spirit when facing adversity.
‘Resilience’ is a core element of the Matravers ethos and it was inspiring to hear and learn from such a courageous individual.
Dr Riding, headteacher said, “I was immensely proud of the way our students responded to such a powerful and challenging presentation. It is such a testament to the depth of emotions that Matravers students possess.”
Certainly, it will be a recollection that the students and staff will remember for a long time to come.
