Matravers School was transformed into a sea of fluorescent leg warmers, crimped hair, letterman jackets and bold make-up as students brought the 1980s to life in their sell-out production of ‘Back to the 80s.’
The performances, which ran from Tuesday 21st to Friday 24th January, featured the school’s largest cast to date, with 65 students taking to the stage and three students performing in a live band.
The community resp-onse was overwhelmingly positive, praising the excellence of all the young performers on stage, the live band and the creative team.
Rebecca Walker, the school’s head of drama and show director, said, “The students have worked incredibly hard to produce a phenomenally entertaining week for the school and local community.
“Students have been rehearsing hard for many, many months, but I can confidently say from seeing the standing ovations and hearing the whoops of appreciation, the hard graft has been worth it.
“Every individual involved should be incredibly proud of themselves as they really and truly have taken us all on an amazing trip Back to the 80s!”
