A MINI festival held in memory of Dilton Marsh man, Stuart Lange, has been hailed a success by organisers with 130 motorcyclists joining the rideout and crowds enjoying the festivities on offer.
This is the second ‘Langefest’ organised by friends and family of Stuart, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in the summer of 2016.
All money raised from this year’s event will be donated to the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and Lisa’s Army, a local charity in aid of Lisa Wells, a local mum who has been diagnosed with bowel and liver cancer, and is raising money for her two daughters.
Member of the Langefest committee, Gem Thorne Curtis said, “Stuart Lange was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend who tragically died in a motorcycle accident on the 1st of July 2016. He raised a lot of money for charity including organising and participating in motorbike ride-outs and also participating in charity parachute jumps.
“Langefest was held on 8th July in Frome for its second year, with around 130 bikers joining the ride out. Stuart’s daughter Sophie waved the flag to release the bikes to start their ride. Local members of the community stood out on the streets and in the town to wave them off on their ride, before they returned to the fun day in full swing with lots of stalls, activities and live music.
“We would like to thank the local businesses for their support and donations especially TL Vehicle Servicing, Clean “N” Coat, Bath Narrowboats and Center Parcs in Warminster.
“Langefest is an annual event and plans for next year are already taking place! Committee members are Gem Thorne Curtis, Alex Keitch, Simon Boon, Lynette Boon, Nicky Harding and Phillip Norris. We would also like to thank Jay Boher for the photography taken at the fun day and throughout the rideout.”
