A Westbury writer is pleased with the success of his new and first book about Van Morrison, which he says has proved popular with music fans around the world.
The book, ‘Vanatic: The Story Of A Van Morrison Fan’, by local man Patrick Corley, chronicles his 43 year history of collecting recordings of the singer and attending over 50 concerts since first discovering the music in 1973.
Patrick, who has lived in Westbury since 1987, published the book – his first – with the Self Publishing Partnership of Bath in conjunction with Brown Dog Books.
Patrick said, “I have taken charge of distributing the book by marketing it through eBay, and have posted copies to Ireland, Denmark, Spain, the USA, and Australia. I’ve become a well-known figure in Westbury Post Office in the last couple of weeks!
“The highlight of my summer will be in August when me and a minibus full of friends will head to Glastonbury Abbey to see the singer, known as ‘Van The Man’, in concert. It should be awesome; let’s hope it doesn’t rain!”
Anyone interested in buying a copy can find one on eBay for £12.99 by searching for ‘Vanatic by Patrick Corley’.
