CHAPMANSLADE Short Mat Bowls Club is on the lookout for new members as its facilities are upgraded to include three playing mats.
The club was set up in 2000 with the help of a lottery grant, and plays every Friday night at Chapmanslade Village Hall, starting at 7.15pm.
Keen player Vaughan Rees said, “We currently have 17 members but only one is from Chapmanslade or Corsley!
“Whether you’re an experienced bowler or a complete novice, short mat bowls offers a different approach to the art of bowling. The fundamentals can be picked up in a few minutes and then it’s a matter of ‘practice makes (almost) perfect’! We’re a friendly club whose main purpose is to have a good time with some light-hearted competition thrown in.
“Why not give us a try? Tuition is always available and your first four weeks are free.”
