The White Horse Country Park is being transformed into an exciting new venue for festivals, events, parties and weddings. With a new name – The View – it will boast a new restaurant and sports bar along with a large play park for children.
Currently undergoing a major refurbishment The View will “put Westbury back on the map’ and become a ‘trendy place to socialise, enjoy food and host events,” says the man behind the ambitious project, Jordan Daykin who also runs the Daykin Estates estate agency in the town.
The View will have its grand opening on the 25th of March with a launch party for the bar and restaurant. The events venue is set to open mid-May and an à la carte restaurant will follow in the summer.
The View will also house its own double decker bus which will be used to complement events and festivals, overlooking views of Westbury’s White Horse.
Jordan and his fiancee Laura took on the project towards the end of 2021 with the aim of completely modernising what then was the White Horse Country Park.
“Now that we are nearing the end of the pandemic it feels like a great time to offer a trendy place to socialise, enjoy food and host events,” he told White Horse News.
“First off we wanted to change the name and when you’re at ‘The View’ the first thing you notice is the incredible view of the White Horse and we felt there was no other name that represented the place better.
“Our head chef Scott Dodge who has over 30 years’ experience will lead the catering team and has some very exciting plans for the menus. Dan Wood is our bar manager with five years’ experience and having grown up in Westbury he is very excited to bring The View to life with his team of hospitality staff. Laura, our events manager, has a keen eye for detail and a passion for making milestones memorable, celebrating in style.
“The View is like no other venue, especially within the local area. There will be a completely revamped interior with a new restaurant, new sports style bar and new cloakrooms with stylish ladies’ dressing facilities. There will be a new terrace area with heated booth seating, a revamped exterior and a large children’s play park.
“The Views will have a contemporary design throughout which has been interior designed and project managed by the renowned Clare and Matt Cassidy.
“We hope to be an attractive choice for families and for couples date nights as well as for large group social events – all the way to weddings for up to 160 people (seated) and festivals up to 5,000.
“We also have our double decker bus “The View on Tour” which will be used for cocktail-making nights, bottomless brunches and for our festivals.
“Our ethos as a business is “to put Westbury back on the map” and provide a friendly, sociable vibe where customers can come and enjoy themselves after what’s been a tough couple of years for everyone.”
The View’s Launch Party is on 25th March closely followed by a set menu for Mother’s Day (Sunday 27th March) which is three courses and a glass of fizz for £30 per person.
“With our location in close proximity to both the Golf Club and Rugby Club we are excited to be welcoming the locals back to their hotspot,” added Jordan.
“Also, as a business, we work closely with Alzheimer’s Support and will be looking at ways in which we can raise much-needed funds and awareness for the charity here at The View.”
The View is already taking bookings for weddings, birthday parties, Christmas parties, Christmas dinner and New Year’s Eve.
