WESTBURY Lions Club has elected a new president to lead the club with its charitable and community-based activities over the next year – Peter Esdaile.
Peter took over from the outgoing president, Tracy Sheppard, at the annual handover BBQ last month.
Speaking on his appointment, Peter said, “It is a privilege to be president of the most welcoming Westbury Lions Club and my first time in the role, so I’ve got lots to learn! One of my aims is for the people of Westbury to recognise the contribution that the Lions make to the local community and for them to know that we are here to help those that are in need whether they be organisations, families or individuals.
“My deepest thanks to Tracy for her hard work leading the club after our subdued activities during covid, creating a growing vibrant club and her enthusiasm driving the fundraising events.
“We are all looking forward to the Vehicle Show on 4th September and also the postponed Dog Show on 11th September that had to be rescheduled due to the hot weather last month.”
