Wiltshire Council has confirmed there are no confirmed timescales for repairs at Westbury Swimming Pool.
An audit was recently completed at the pool following multiple complaints from residents about the condition of the facility.
In a letter to Wiltshire Council, one resident described the pool as “bordering on deliberate neglect.” They said, “We are constantly being shown the new facilities at Melksham and the new pool project at Trowbridge, which are of course very much welcomed, but Westbury doesn’t seem to have even the most basic of maintenance.”
Wiltshire Council said work is underway to understand the costs involved in addressing the issues, but no timeline has yet been set.
Cllr Mel Jacob, Cabinet Member for Communities, Engagement and Corporate Services, said, “We are sorry to hear that some people are unhappy with the facilities at Westbury Swimming Pool. We have recently completed an audit to understand the remedial work required to address issues with some of the facilities.
“We appreciate residents’ concerns and are currently undertaking work to understand the costs involved and consider a provisional programme of repair work. At present, there are no confirmed timescales for the works but once we have any further details, these can be shared with customers.”
