Suggestion for potential traffic calming measures on Oldfield Road will be passed to Wiltshire Council following a survey conducted by the town council.
Westbury Town Council recently invited feedback from local residents about the stretch of road, which can become particularly busy at rush hour as drivers navigate parked cars and speed bumps.
Concerns from residents have now been collected and will be submitted to Wiltshire Council.
In an update to residents, Westbury Town Council said,
“Thank you for taking the time to complete our recent survey on what you would like to see regarding the traffic issues and traffic calming on Oldfield Road.
“Your responses have been collated and will be presented to Wiltshire Council’s LHFIG (Local Highways and Footways Improvement Group) for further review, discussion and suggestions.
“Westbury Town Council is not a highway authority and has no enforcement power or decision-making power on highway matters — this is the responsibility of Wiltshire Council.
“However, the town council will work with Wiltshire Council to try and resolve highway problems and issues, while managing expectations. Changes that residents would like to see may not happen, and any works or improvements that can be implemented will not happen quickly.”
