CHILDREN at The Rainbow Playschool in Westbury learnt about remembrance last week when they went to the town service and visited a local war veteran.
On Friday 11th November the attended the remembrance service at the war memorial on Westbury High Street.
The playschool’s Betty Miller said, “The children stood in silence for two minutes and then spent some time looking at the wreaths and crosses around the memorial.
“The staff and children then visited C.S.Bowyer in Maristow Street to view the large display of World War Two memorabilia around their offices then enjoyed drinks and cookies and listened to music from that era.
“The children met a very brave 92 year-old veteran and listened while he spoke about some of his experiences of that time.
“Thank you to Sue for inviting us along and for the drinks and cookies; we had a lovely time!”
The Rainbow Playschool is open for sessions in All Saints Church Hall in the churchyard in the centre of Westbury.
