Police are appealing for information following an incident in Westbury.
At approximately 9pm on Sunday 16th October, two men called at the door of a home in Fell Road and asked to speak to a man. When the male occupant told them the person they were after did not live there, they kicked the door and forced their way inside.
They made off with a wallet belonging to the couple, who are aged in their 50s and 60s. The wallet contained a large quantity of cash, bank cards and a bus pass. One of the men is believed to have been carrying a hammer.
The first man is described as white, approximately 5 ft 4 inches tall of skinny build, aged between 28 and 30. He was wearing a light grey hooded top and jogging bottoms. The second man is described as white, 5 ft 4 inches tall and of stock build. He is believed to be aged in his early 30s and had stubble and short black hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top.
PC Rob Goacher said, “This was a very distressing incident for the couple, who have understandably been left shaken and upset.
“Officers are carrying out an extremely robust investigation into this incident, and have been carrying out house to house enquiries in the area.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who saw two men in the Fell Road area between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on 16th October, or anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious.”
