Police Report for the Westbury area

WILTSHIRE Police report on a number of incidents that have recently taken place within Westbury and the surrounding area,  as follows:

Theft: Between  2230hrs on the 10th March and 0700 on the  11th a Theft at Gryphon Close, Westbury, when unknown person has removed a Black Zinc brand scooter from private driveway tvo £50.

Between  0300hrs and -0700hrs on the 13th March  a theft occurred when an unknown person entered the garden of an  address at  Portway Lane, Warminster and stole a Storm adult mountain bike described as being black with yellow writing on the forks and chrome handle bars £100.

Dog attack on a horse: At 0810hrs on 15th March, a female rider from Warminster was riding a horse along Elm Hill, Warminster when  she passed an Alsatian dog  that was being walked on its lead. A moment later the rider noted that the dog was running up to the horse and bit the horse on it back leg,  as it did so the horse kicked out and hitting the dog causing it to yelp and run off.  The horse was thankfully uninjured and the rider remained in control of the horse.

Drink Driver: At 2140 hrs on 9th March a silver Ford Focus was seen driving erratically on the A350 near Westbury. The driver was subsequently arrested or driving with excess alcohol .

On the 10th March Pawel JAKOSZ, 47 years of Westbury, was charged with driving whilst over the drink drive limit and has been bailed to appear at the North West Wiltshire Magistrates Court at 0930hrs on the 26th March 2015.

Criminal damage and Arson:

Arson: At about 0337hrs on   11th March a Silver Vauxhall Vectra was set alight whilst parked and unattended in  Westleigh, Warminster.

Inspector Alan Webb said, “This is a highly dangerous thing  to do causing danger to members of the public and also to fire crews who are tasked to put out the fire.

Criminal damage to motor vehicle: Between 0900hrs on the 14th and 1020hrs on the 16th March a white VW Beetle had green solution placed onto it that lifted the first layers of paint from the nearside side panels and front bumper.

Inspector Alan Webb said, “Criminal damage and arson are increasing within the town of Warminster and range from wing mirrors and wiper blades being broken off of vehicles to damage such as the arson report.

“My officers cannot be everywhere and so we need your help.  If you see incidents of damage being committed then please call it in so that it can be investigated.  It is only together that we are going to be able to target those committing these senseless acts of damage.”
