Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses following a burglary at Westbury Rugby Club.
The incident took place between 3.00pm-4.00pm on Saturday 18th October at Knott Field, Coach Lane, where a number of items including phones, bank cards and money was stolen from the changing rooms at the rugby club.
Club chairman Gareth Vaughan said, “It’s very disappointing that someone would stoop to that level. The players are very annoyed; some of these things will cost a lot of money to replace.
“We take every precaution to prevent this happening and lock the changing room doors, but someone had obviously planned this and climbed through a very small window to steal the items while the lads were out on the pitch.
“It’s the first time in my memory that it’s happened at this ground. It could have been anyone, so we’ve reported everything to the police and are hoping they can track down those responsible.”
Wiltshire Police is keen to hear from anyone who may have seen an old-style green car that was parked close to the rugby club on Saturday afternoon.
Anyone who may have witnessed the burglary or has any information about the car should contact Adele Owens at Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be left anonymously.
