YMCA Bratton Preschool is to close at the end of this month.
Director for children’s services at YMCA, Sarah Clover said “We took over the responsibility for the preschool in January 2018 and since that time, the preschool has been running at a financial loss.
“The YMCA and the team have worked hard to attract new children from the local area and to keep the preschool going. This has put the team in a difficult position and, in the last few weeks, many of the staff members have decided to move on.
“This left us with a much depleted team and we felt that it was better to close early in the school year to enable families to seek alternative local places for their children. Our last day will be Friday the 27th of September. All of the children will have their free entitlement up until this date.
“The local authority can supply information about what childcare spaces are available in the local area and have a dedicated Childcare Information Section on the Wiltshire Council website. All parents and carers have been informed and we wish all of the staff and children the very best for their futures. We are also grateful to members of the community who have been very supportive to us.
“We also have some spaces at our other local preschools and nurseries in Westbury and Trowbridge. Details can be found on our website www.ymcabath group.org.uk.”
