The Rotary Club of Westbury recently presented a cheque for £2,500 to children’s hospice, Julia’s House.
President of Westbury Rotary Club, Jim Heath presented Community Fundraiser for Julia’s House, Liz Froud with a cheque for £2,500 which was collected from various charity events that the club held. Jim has chosen Julia’s House as one of his charities during his presidential year.
Liz gave a talk about Wiltshire Council having given the green light to convert the former office building into a hospice. They have special designs for the building that will embrace the neolithic heritage of Wiltshire in a wonderful child friendly way.
The hospice will have a homely atmosphere but its larger size means that they can add some extra addition.
Every child that goes to Julia’s House has a dedicated play plan, which is created with parents, nurses and carers so everyone can ‘play’ their part in developing a child potential. This tailored play is not only fun; it can also help parents cope with all sorts of challenges including helping the children cope with changes in routine.
If you wish to make a donation please contact Julia’s House either by phone on 01980 677105 or email liz.froud@juliashouse.org
