A local primary school kicked off the festive season with its own Christmas lights switch-on.
The Bratton School Big Christmas Light Switch-On took place at the village school, marking the beginning of a packed festive period.
“School staff stayed late on the Friday evening to decorate the whole school with real trees in each classroom and other real trees dotted about the school building,” said Louise Bunce, admin officer at the school.
“The school truly looks like Narnia and smells wonderful!”
The oldest and youngest pupils were chosen to switch on the lights, following a countdown led by headteacher Mrs Burke at the school’s annual Christmas Tree Assembly.
Every pupil designed their own creative decoration and took turns placing them on the hall tree.
“The children have produced some beautiful decorations and they will be able to take these home to continue enjoying on the last day of term,” said Louise.
