THE Probus Club in Westbury could cease to exist unless it can find a new honorary secretary.
According to the constitution, without this position being filled, the club will have to fold.
Attempts to get a secretary from within the current membership has failed, so the club is now looking to the local community in an attempt to find someone suitable before the end of July this year.
Chairman, Chris Saunders said, “It will be a great shame if Probus Westbury were to close after serving the local community for 40 years, this year being their anniversary year.
“The club has been a great talking shop and has brought in some excellent speakers over those 40 years to amuse and stimulate members.
“The club has organised trips to places of interest and has organised quarterly luncheons for members and their partners.
“Anyone interested would be able to come to two or three meetings as a guest of the club and potentially work alongside himself and the vice chairman, Bruce Hewitson to learn the ropes over the coming months.
“The secretary could be male or female as long as they are retired or semi-retired.”
If you, or someone you know, are interested please call Chris on 01373 859592.
