Westbury Area Board is hosting a public meeting in advance of the next community area board meeting to discuss youth issues in the area.
The meeting is to be held at Fairfield Farm Community College and there will be two identical sessions in an effort to make it possible for as many people to come as possible.
Westbury community engagement manager, Graeme Morrison said, “Westbury has not had a group that looks at youth issues or initiate youth projects – often called a “local youth network” in other community areas – for some time now. The point of this public meeting is to start a discussion around whether Westbury and the surrounding villages need a group of this kind, and if so, how do local people want that group to work. We will also be discussing youth priorities for the area, looking at where there might be gaps in activities or provision for young people.
“I have sent out invitations to a number of organisations that I know work with young people or have a youth section, but the meeting is open to anyone who is interested, and I would especially love to see as many young people there as possible.”
The details of the meetings are as follows: Wednesday 4th December, session 1 – 1pm – 3pm, session 2 – 4pm – 6pm. Venue – Fairfield Farm College
