A QUIZ night organised by two Westbury women who knew Mitzi Steady, the four-year-old who was killed in a road accident in Bath earlier this year, will be hosted at the White Horse Country Park next month.
The quiz night will add to the fundraising campaign begun in Mitzi’s name by her parents, for the national road safety charity Brake.
The organisers of the Westbury event, local women Kirsty Galliers and Katie Fisher, both looked after four-year-old Mitzi at the nursery she attended.
Kirsty said, “Katie and I have both left the nursery now, but we wanted to be able to give to Mitzi’s parents’ fundraising.
“We looked after Mitzi so know her parents in a professional aspect, and knowing they’re raising money at such a tough time made us want to help.
“We have never hosted a quiz before and it was a very spontaneous idea, but we hope it will go well!
“We want to raise as much money as possible for this charity and raise awareness of road safety. We are also trying to get together as many prizes as possible and if anyone could donate any prizes or vouchers we would really appreciate it.”
The quiz will be held at the White Horse Country Park on Saturday 18th April, beginning at 7pm. Tickets are £7.50 and include entry and an evening meal. Profits will be donated to the Mitzi Steady memorial fund.
For more information or to donate prizes call the country park on 01373 822323, or Kirsty on 07880 678336.
The Justgiving campaign started by Mitzi’s father, Andrew, with a target of £1,000, has raised over £20,000 following an unprecedented public outpouring of grief. You can donate at www.justgiving. com/mitzisteady/.
