ON the evening of Sunday 18th February, Freda Ireland opened her front door to test her doorbell. As the sound rang, it frightened her beloved pet cockatiel causing it to escape from her home.
It went missing in the Castle View area of Westbury in the early evening and is likely to take shelter in the nearby trees as the species is not fond of the cold weather.
Freda describes the bird as pale grey with bright red ear covers and a bright yellow top knot. Her bird can talk and is a very loyal companion.
Freda said, “I am devastated, I feel sick that my bird is outside in the cold. It follows me throughout the house and is very beautiful”
