WESTBURY’S Active Retirement Club (ARC) is about to return, in September, following the pandemic.
“The first event planned is a Welcome Back luncheon for members and guests on 14th September at the White Horse Country Park, 12.30pm for 1.00pm,” says the club.
“This will be a good way for members to reacquaint themselves over some excellent food and drink in a glorious setting. Our new programme of events will be announced during the lunch. The luncheon will be free to members, guests £16.
“Raffles will be a feature of the luncheons with all money going to good causes. Our last donation of £200 went to Imperial Charity just before we shut down in 2020.
New venue for regular meetings
“The club will commence their regular meetings at the glorious setting of the White Horse Country Park on 28th September, 10am for 10.30am tea, coffee and biscuits provided, with a full programme of events every other Tuesday following a move from the church hall at the URC.
“Teresa Mead, on behalf of the Country Club said that they were very pleased to welcome Westbury’s Active Retirement club to the venue. She said that it was an ideal location for ARC ‘s meetings with excellent disabled facilities at the club, should they be required.
“Our Events Secretary is putting together an excellent list of guest speakers for the regular meetings, covering a wide range of topics guaranteed to hold your interest, these will be interspersed with skittles, quizzes and visits to places of interest etc.
