WESTBURY United Football Club is looking forward to welcoming fans to the Roy Dutchman stand – a special place constructed in memory of loyal volunteer and supporter Roy, who suffered a heart attack whilst helping to prepare the pitch for a match.
The club said, “Roy was a supporter of the club for more than 40 years, everyone who attended a Westbury match will have known him. Roy’s selflessness was unmeasurable and he was a key helper to get the club where it is now.
“We’re particularly proud of the image of Roy in the back of the stand so he can continue to stand with us and enjoy the games, we can even keep him updated with the scores from around the Western League at halftime.
“Roy Dutchman, Rest In Peace.”
The stand features lengths of fabricated angles supplied free of charge by Westbury Park Engineering Ltd, holding a white rigid board produced by Fine Signs of Westbury.
