Rygor Commercials of Westbury, the Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer group, sweated it out recently to help raise money for its employee-nominated Charities of the Year; Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Hope for Tomorrow and Dorothy House Hospice Care.
On what turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far, the Rygor team prepared to take on seven hours of cycling, on three static bikes in the showroom of the company’s Westbury head office.
On Thursday 25th July, 30 Rygor employees took part in the cycle challenge, along with Adam Baker from Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Lauren Booth, an ambassador for Wiltshire Air Ambulance who both put a stint in on the bikes too.
Earlier this year, Rygor launched its Wellness Programme, to highlight the importance of looking after ourselves and living a healthy life. As part of this, the company has already held charity ballet barre and yoga classes for its team. This latest fundraising event once again put the spotlight on wellbeing, as well as supporting important causes.
Kate Ruberry-Shoemack, head of people and communication at Rygor said, “The wellbeing of our team is of the utmost importance and events like the charity cycle ride are a great way of getting everyone together to take part in a fitness challenge which helps raise money for three charities very close to our hearts. So far we have raised more than £350 from this event, with donations still coming in. I would like to say a great big thank you to all our team members who took part, to Snap Fitness Trowbridge and to our charities.”
