THE latest West of England league Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Premier 2 match against current league leaders, Goatacre, had to be cancelled as the heavy rain that fell consistency during the morning and early afternoon put paid to the game, much to the disappointment of the players who made a valiant effort to get rid of the water that had fallen on the covers.
The umpires, in consultation with both the captains of Westbury and Goatacre, both came to the conclusion that at 3.30pm after having taken an early tea, that it was impossible and with more rain forecast, the game being abandoned.
This was a great disappointment to the players as this was a top-of-the-table clash against the current league leaders.
