Westbury Town Council’s inaugural Shopkeepers’ Forum saw over 20 local retailers meet at the Laverton to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities of commercial life in Westbury.
The town’s traders turned out in force to give their thoughts and opinions on what can be done to encourage use of local shops in Westbury.
Deputy Mayor, cllr Shelia Kimmins, who chaired the forum said, “We were really pleased with the turnout from our local retailers. The event showed how both Westbury businesses and the town council are committed to helping bring our town centre back to life. There were some really great ideas that came out of the discussions and we’re excited to see how they develop. I’d urge any local retailer to come along to the next meeting at the Laverton in July and get involved.”
After the successful first meeting, a follow-up event is to be held at the Laverton on Tuesday 9th July from 6.15pm.
