Following the success of last year’s clothes throw for Cancer Research, Slimming World are at it again!
Westbury Slimming World consultants Juliet Morgan, Lisa Laycock and Paula Wood are asking their members to bag up all of the clothes they have slimmed out of and donate them to this fantastic cause.
“With our members notching up such amazing weight losses we are sure that there will be plenty of clothes that no longer fit,” they said. “We are hoping to top last year’s Westbury total of 600 bags. With so many people still losing their lives to this dreadful disease, Slimming World wants to do all it can to help.
“Countrywide, Slimming World collected 38,000 bags and raised more than £1million for the charity. In fact, with other initiatives such as Race for Life and 5p donation boxes in many of the groups, our members have raised more that £2.4million for Cancer Research in the last year.”
The bags are being collected from Westbury Conservative Club at 1pm on Saturday 28th May. The Westbury Slimming World ladies will be there from midday to meet anyone wishing to donate so come along Westbury and bring any unwanted items along!
Slimming World groups are held at the following venues:- Leigh Park Community Centre with Juliet on Mondays at 3.30, 5.30 and 7.30; Westbury Leigh Primary School with Lisa on Thursdays at 5.30 and 7.30; Westbury Conservative Club with Paula on Fridays at 9.30 and 11.30
