Regency Brass, a thrilling quintet of brass, timpani and organ, comes to Edington Priory Church on Saturday 17th October 17th, at 7.30pm, for the next Edington Arts’ concert.
Benjamin Nicholas, well known locally already both as an organ recitalist and as artistic director of the Edington Music Festival, joins the established trumpet/timpani quartet, Regency Brass, to repeat a superb programme which sold out in Oxford earlier this year.
The programme includes Handel’s Music for the Royal Fireworks, a Toccata and Fugues by JS Bach, Trumpet Voluntaries by Stanley and Clarke, a Sonata for Three Trumpets by Gabrieli, and music by Purcell, Mozart, Peeters, Buxtehude, Morricone and Charpentier. The programme is a winner, a real roof-raiser.
Full programme details are available on the Edington Arts website, www.edingtonarts.org
Tickets are £20, £15 and £10 in advance (10% discount for Edington Angels); on the door add £2, from music@edingtonarts.org or by phoning 01380 831256 / 871549. 18 and unders come free, and there will be interval drinks.
