Frome Musical Theatre Company’s award-winning youth group Spellbound are pleased to present Lionel Bart’s musical ‘BLITZ!’. Director: Dora Bishop, Choreographer: Eloise Kilkelly-Doyle, Musical Director: David Hynds. This year our country remembers the outbreak of World War II 80 years ago and commemorates the 75-year anniversary of the liberation brought by the D-Day Landings. Let our young cast take you on a trip back to the home front of wartime London and into the lives of the families on Petticoat Lane.
The story centres on the relationship between a Jewish family, the Blitzteins, and a cockney family, the Lockes, in 1940s East End London. Mrs. Blitztein and Alfie Locke work at adjacent market stalls and can’t stand each other. Against the backdrop of Hitler’s bombing intensifying, their teenage children, Carol and Georgie, fall in love. Will Mrs. Blitztein and Alfie be able to bury the hatchet and become friends? We’re having a Children’s Summer Party at The Assembly Rooms. Dance to your favourite Summer Hits, provided by PDJ Disco and play lots of party games. A light buffet is available, bar will be open any every child gets an ice cream! Entry is just £6 per child (adults are free). Ticket includes disco, ice cream and a present to take home. Saturday 31st August 4pm- We Love Little Mix – The Ultimate Little Mix Experience. We Love Little Mix are four hugely talented girls paying tribute to one of the UK’s finest Girl-Bands. Lee Memphis King, Europe’s most successful Elvis Presley tribute artist, recreates the essence of the King with consummate ease and an almost unbelievable combination of stunningly accurate vocals and incredible passion in every performance.
