St George’s Day was celebrated by children at Westbury Leigh, starting with a whole school assembly in the morning.
This was followed by an afternoon of traditional playground games outside, this was enjoyed by each class and the sun was shining too!
Some children opted to wear a uniform or clothing that supported a club they belonged to, such as brownies, beavers, cubs and scouts to name a few, and they all looked great.
Quotes from children:
“St. George’s Day was fun because we got to draw pictures and learn about something new that we didn’t know about before!” Anna Year 3
“We played lots of games outside and I liked them. We played duck, duck goose, what’s the time Mr Wolf and a farmer game.” Harry Year 1
