All Saints’ Church Westbury will once again be holding its popular Summer Fair on Saturday 17th June from 10am to 2pm.
The event will be held in the church and churchyard, and the highlight will be the popular tower tours which is a fantastic opportunity to climb the steps to the top of the tower for magnificent views over Westbury and to the White Horse.
Visitors will be able to visit the ringing chamber where the bell ringers ring the peal of bells each Sunday and see the workings of the 17th century chiming clock. The tower houses the third heaviest peal of bells in the world and often welcomes visiting bell ringing teams.
Also on offer will be home baking, plant sales, crafts for children, a tractor trail, a tombola, and refreshments. There will be vintage tractors on display and a Belgian mechanical organ will provide the music.
All proceeds from the stalls and tower tours will go towards the work of All Saints’ Church. The church is open all year round for anyone to enjoy and provides a tranquil space for those who need a few minutes peace in this busy world. The ministers support the community of Westbury, whether they attend the church or not, at important life events such as baptisms, marriages and funerals.
Revd Rebecca Harris, team rector said, “I am really looking forward to welcoming families once again into All Saints’ Church. It’s always a pleasure to see people of all ages enjoying our beautiful building. The funds raised help to keep our doors open and entry to the event is free and perfect for families to enjoy. Come along and support us and have fun at the same time!”
The churchyard can be reached from Church Street, Market Place or Edward Street. Parking is available in the High Street car park. More details can be found on the church website www.whtministry .org.uk.
