Many events at this year’s Westbury Festival are child friendly explain organisers, “ and we have some events aimed squarely at the young and their families.
“On Saturday 28th September at All Saint’s Parish rooms (facing the church towards the library) we will have the Coalition of Superheroes dressed as favourite comic book characters with the Wiltshire Scrapstore helping children make their own Superhero costumes.”
Festival secretary, Brenda Pyne said, “It should be lots of fun for every little superhero and we will have refreshments for everyone.”. £4 per child or £7 for a family. Children must be accompanied but no charge for adults to attend.
“There is also a free day of retro gaming at the Laverton on Saturday 5th October from 10am to 4pm.”
Festival chair Ian Cunningham said, “We have all heard family ‘discussions’ when kids laugh that Dad or Mum don’t even know what Pwned means but Dad claims that he’s only been AFK for the past 20 years and could show them that they are all noobs if only they were playing ‘proper’ games.
“So, if you want to torch your folks or just find out what gaming was like when everything looked like Minecraft, come along. All the retro games are free, and we will even have big screen Mario Kart racing.”
