THE town’s food bank has received a boost after local company Rygor Group Ltd pledged to raise money for the local service throughout the year. Following this, the company has joined the prestigious Westbury Wall – an online wall on the Westbury Area Network’s website that lists local companies that support the local food bank.
Each year, team members at Rygor Group Ltd. nominate good causes close to their hearts, aiming to give back to communities close to their sites as part of their charity of the year initiative. The company is looking to raise £6,000 this year for the Westbury Area Network which runs the town’s food bank and community fridge, as well as Macmillan Cancer Support and the mental health charity MND Association.
The support for Westbury Area Network (WAN) comes at a vital time, as the charity says it continues to see demand increase for food bank services in Westbury and the surrounding areas.
“Community spirit, kindness and generosity continue to be key parts of what it means to be a member of Team Rygor, and the whole team looks forward to fundraising for the MND Association, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Westbury Area Network over the coming months,” said Talitha Scott, culture and communications executive at Rygor Group.
Rygor’s charities of the year initiative is now in its ninth year, and since 2015, Rygor team members have taken part in events such as sponsored leg-shaves, cake bakes, sponsored walks, raffles and more.
“We’re extremely grateful and pretty honoured that Rygor has nominated us this year,” said Ryan Child, WAN trustee.
“When companies like Rygor take the decision to support local causes such as ours, the effects can be huge. Not just in the amazing financial support but in the sense of community, that businesses in the area are also putting energy into improving and supporting the town. Our Westbury Wall gives those companies the recognition they deserve.”
The Westbury Wall also features companies such as Martin and Co, Cleracomms, CW Accountancy and many more. You can see the wall at https://westburyareanetwork.org/supporters
