A teddy bears’ picnic at Abraham’s Kitchen proved a big hit with local children recently.
Families enjoyed a holiday lunch, hat making, crafts and listening to stories.
Among the people who attended was a family from Canada, who are spending the summer holiday in Westbury.
Abraham’s Kitchen provides community lunches for families during school holidays and their next event is next Friday, 23rd August, 12-2pm at Grassacres Hall.
It will have the theme of ‘a day at the seaside’ with tables decorated with bucket and spades and inflatables, a lunch of fish fingers and chips in a cone or homemade pasties and chips in a box (veg and meat pasties), popcorn boxes and ice cream in a cone with fruit sauce and a chocolate finger.
A competition is ‘make your own beach’ and bring it in a shoebox.
Abraham’s Kitchen is overseen by volunteers from Westbury Area Network and aims to bring the community together for a free and delicious lunch, offering a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a meal during the school holidays.
