THE Duke in Bratton has been shortlisted for the FreeFrom Eating Out Awards 2015.
The FreeFrom Eating Out Awards encourages innovation and celebrates excellence in the freefrom food industry and on Wednesday 14th October, the shortlist was announced. Being gluten and lactose intolerant, Lyn understands the frustrations of eating out and finding it difficult to find something on the menu she can have.
She said, “It’s really important for places to understand that if people are intolerant to a certain food, they have to be extra careful when choosing something off the menu to ensure there won’t be any possibility of cross contamination. I always prefer to go to places I know the chef either has intolerances themselves or has a family member who does, because they have a better understanding of what it’s like.”
As a shortlisted entrant to the awards, The Duke will get a full and free premium listing in the new restaurant directory, Can I Eat There?
Lyn said, “We didn’t expect to be shortlisted so we’re very pleased. It’s recognition for all the hard work that went into making the Duke a freefrom friendly place.”
The presentation of the awards and the winners will be announced on 17th November at Food Matters Live at Excel.
