The Hollies Inn joins ‘Go Sober for October’ campaign to support Macmillan Cancer Support

Popular Westbury local, The Hollies Inn, is embracing a healthier approach this October by supporting the “Go Sober for October” campaign. The initiative encourages patrons to enjoy a night out without alcohol, while raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“Go out… have a good time… without alcohol! Yes, it is very much possible,” said landlord Charlie Dales-Staples. “We have increased our non-alcoholic drinks range for anyone who wants to take part and, throughout October, we will be donating 25% of the profits from our non-alcoholic sales to Macmillan Cancer Support.

“We’ve added an array of non-alcoholic drinks alcohol-free ciders, lagers, ales and spirits. This expanded selection ensures that customers can still enjoy the pub atmosphere with a refreshing drink in hand, all while supporting Macmillan.”

Charlie highlighted the broader benefits of the campaign: “This is more than just a month without alcohol; it’s an opportunity for people to rethink their relationship with drinking. There are so many benefits – improved mental clarity, more energy, better overall well-being—and we’re excited to help our community explore those.”

The campaign, “Go Sober for October” is a nationwide movement, which encourages participants to abstain from alcohol for the entire month. The Hollies Inn’s contribution makes it a local hub for those looking to take on the challenge while supporting an important charity.

With the popularity of mindful drinking on the rise, The Hollies Inn hopes its non-alcoholic offerings will appeal not only to those going sober for October but to a wider audience interested in wellness and moderation.

“By offering a variety of non-alcoholic alternatives, we want to create a welcoming space for everyone – whether you’re choosing to go alcohol-free or just looking for something new,” added Charlie. “It’s all about inclusivity and making healthier choices accessible.”

“Pop into The Hollies Inn this October and raise a glass – for a good cause!”

The pub, based in Westbury Leigh, hopes its efforts will inspire others in Westbury to join the cause, promoting a more health-conscious and socially aware community. All proceeds from the campaign will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping those affected by cancer across the UK.
