A SIX year-old from Westbury has a driving ambition to become the next Jenson Button.
Named after racing legend Enzo Ferrari, Enzo Livio Toms is only six years old but is already go karting at a level much more advanced than his age. After only starting driving in June 2013, Enzo is already driving a 120cc engine cart and on his sixth birthday drove a 160cc engine cart on a wet surface at Wilton Mill and managed to keep the cart on track. Enzo is currently a bambino cadet and has an MSA licence so can compete in bambino events but cannot officially start racing until he is eight years old. He is completing courses at Shenington on their outdoor course in order to gain experience and skills.
When asked about racing a big smile lit up Enzo’s face and he said, “I love driving fast and overtaking people going around the outsides, that’s my favourite part.”
Enzo’s driving coach Ryan Ellis said, “I started coaching Enzo a month and a half ago, and for someone so young and considering he hasn’t been doing it for long, he is doing a fantastic job and is a talented young driver. He is already beating course marshalls and they are on the carts constantly.”
Enzo’s racing name is Enzo CRG Racing, sponsored by CRG Racing who will soon be providing him with a new cart.
