Bratton Silver Band were placed fifth in the 2026 West of England Regional Championships in Torquay earlier this month.
The band competed in Section Two for the first time in its history, performing the set test piece 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Philip Harper.
“Preparing for the contest requires commitment from every player and after many, many hours of rehearsal we were ready to go and give our best performance,” said Secretary Sue Jackson. “We were delighted when all our hard work paid off and to be placed fifth out of 16 bands.”
The band will perform its Brass at the Movies concerts in Bradford on Avon on Sunday 12th April and in Trowbridge on Saturday 9th May. Tickets are free and can be booked online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/bratton-community-brass-bands/
