TICKETS are now on sale for this year’s Rickfest, which will bring over 10 hours of live music to Westbury Labour Club next month.
Organisers are hoping that big headliners Bon Giovi and The Modfathers, along with a host of other acts, will draw in the crowds to this year’s fundraiser.
Rickfest 2015 will take place from 2pm to 12.30am on Saturday 24th October, at the Paragon Hall on Haynes Road.
The annual event is held in memory of local man Rick Mills, who died aged 19 in 2002. Rickfest is organised by Rick’s mother, Jayne, and her husband Phill Abbott, to raise money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity.
Jayne said, “Preparations are going well for this year’s event – we’ve launched a new website and are really pleased with the lineup. Now we’re just working hard at promoting the day and encouraging people to come along.
“The new website means people can buy tickets online, and it’s easier for us to get the word out and show everyone what’s going on.
“The lineup this year is fantastic, and we hope it will appeal to a lot of people. We’re already getting positive feedback about the acts we’ve booked, which is exciting.
“Organising an event like this is always daunting, but I think it’s getting easier because we have a better idea of pitfalls to avoid! We were very pleased with last year, and would like to have even more people join us this time.”
This will be the fourth year running for Rickfest, and the lineup includes tribute acts Bon Giovi (Bon Jovi), The Modfathers (Paul Weller) and Will Kinn (Robbie Williams), as well as music from West Country acts Phil Cooper, The Vooz, Broken Image, Hop Back Blues, Thee Ones and Lightnin’ Hobos.
There will also be a bar, food and a raffle. Proceeds will go to Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, who support the families of children with life-threatening and terminal illnesses.
