AN independent road safety audit has not identified any major road safety issues with the entrance to Aldi on Warminster Road.
Residents raised fears that the junction was unsafe for both pedestrians and cars, when the store opened in August 2013.
All traffic has to enter and exit the store from the busy A350 Warminster Road.
Difficulties turning right out of the store, and gridlock created by buses halting on the main road, were two of the key concerns raised.
As part of the process of developing the site, an audit was recently carried out to assess the situation.
A Wiltshire Council spokesperson said, “A road safety audit has been carried out at Aldi by an independent engineering consultancy on behalf of the developer and the report has identified no major road safety issues with the new junction.
“The developer will now maintain the new junction for a further year before it is taken over by the council.”
